BLD (short for Bukás-Loób Sa Diyós, which is "Open in the Spirit of God" i​​n Tagalog) is a Catholic community I joined five years ago after taking one of their spiritual retreats. The community did not have a working website for several years, so when it was time to plan and promote the next retreat, I took this opportunity to build one for them. Previously they had recruited participants for the retreat through word of mouth, but this website helps people learn more about the community itself and other events we have. We also converted the paper application for the retreat into an online application. This made it easier to collect the information of all the attendees in one place online for access amongst the retreat organizers.
